I am currently hosting a Vaultwarden server using docker. And everything seemed to be working well (was able to login with the desktop bitwarden app, web client, and firefox extension) and then I tried to login on my android phone. For some reason it appears the android client refuses to connect to my server.
What typically happens on the android app
-
I change the server to my servers domain.
-
I enter my email and master password
-
I receive an error that states “incorrect user or password”
—
So I assumed I input the incorrect password and I tried entering it about 5 more times, which still did not work. So I ended up signing in on my laptop again, copying the password, pasting it to a txt file then sending that to my phone. I pasted that password to my android client and it still failed.
The email is also identical so I know it is not an incorrect email.
So I figured I’d login on the web client on my phone’s firefox. Worked right away! The firefox extension also signed in no problem. It is only my android phone client that refuses to connect. I found some other issues that sound like mine
- Reddit - The heart of the internet (my server is at the latest version)
- Android app log in fail - Password Manager - Bitwarden Community Forums (I thought I may have stumbled upon gold here, but I tried the solutions suggested and still can not login)
I am honestly perplexed as to why I can’t sign in on my phone and would appreciate any help.
I am running:
- *pixel 9a - grapheneos
- bitwarden mobile app for android - From the official bitwarden f-droid repository*
- I have tried on both WiFi and cellular
Thank you
