We had someone in our organization setup vaultwarden but he is no longer with us anymore. I was not made an owner but I was his “emergency contact” if that helps me in anyway. This was setup via docker on debian 11.
A few questions:
Emergency contact could help, you just need to wait for the time to wait to be passed for it to activate.
Or, if you are part of the org already, you can promote your self via the admin interface.
I can get into the admin panel but I believe I have limited functionality.
I don’t see an option for me to elevate myself. I do have access to the VM if I have to do anything specific on the backend but that would require instructions.
You need to go to the /admin interface, not admin/organization view.
isn’t the admin panel just vaultwarden.domainname.com/admin or is there a different URL?

Either I am going crazy or there are no additional options for my to elevate myself. There are other users there but I am highlighting myself specifically in the screenshot.
Requiring having another user with user level access to the organization. Click the organization and then change form user to owner. If no other users has access then you’ll be unable to add them and then you’ll need to hope can get emergency access to give access to the existing account.
I was setup as an emergency contact to the main person who setup vaultwarden. I don’t mind going that route if I have to.
If it is about the ITOPS org, then just click on that, and you will see a new popup where you can elevate or downgrade your type.
I successfully got in, permission over all collections past and future were the privileges required for me to see everything.
Although now I am having another issue. It seems I can’t move things in the vault from one collection to another, I get this error:
I constantly get this even though I am an owner of the organization.
Anyone have an idea?
