New user here, on latest (1.34.3) docker vaultwarden. Web GUI: “Login with app“ is working fine. Noticed however that is not available for “unlock”, only for real login.
Web GUI Unlock requires me to always type my full (12+ chars) password. And I unlock frequently.
Is something missing/wrong in my config, that I cannot unlock with my device, but only approve my initial login through my phone app? Would love to unlock the web GUI through the app as well.
Answering myself here, not a solution but a workaround, config change, as found on reddit:
Try the following:
In your browser extension, click on settings, set vault timeout to On browser restart and vault timeout action to “log out”.
When you restart the computer or the browser, it will not be in locked state, but in logout state, so you have to use your phone to unlock.
If you had set the vault timeout to “Locked”, when you restart the browser, it will be in a locked state and by default, you have to re-enter the master password. However, it is not logged out, so you can’t use the mobile client to unlock. If you click on logout, you can.
