EDIT: Suspect this might be related to the issue here - trying to update everything first and see if that might fix things.
EDIT 2: Well, updating all docker images, including vaultwarden/server, and restarting seems to have fixed it. Probably just a classic case of assuming causality - I did this and then it broke 
Will update if I’m mistaken. Admittedly it has left me a little wary of trying to use passkeys with BW/VW even if it’s not entirely logical.
First of all, thanks for Vaultwarden - it really has made it so much easier to use my own pw manager
My problem is that at the moment, I cannot access my vault from the Firefox bitwarden extension. When I say ‘access’, here’s what I mean:
I can log out of and in to my VW account (self-hosted) via the extension just fine but instead of the extension showing me the contents of my vault, it just displays the usually super short loading animation over and over (entries blinking). I can search the vault but no results load (again, just blinking animations). I can interact with the plugin in other ways as usual (settings, generator etc.) - just not the vault contents. The vault contents can be accessed as usual via both the mobile application (Android) and my self-hosted website. It’s only the plugin that struggles.
Here’s what I have tried locally (client side):
- Log in and out of the extension
- Uninstall and re-install the extension
- Close and restart Firefox
- Install the extension in a completely fresh, newly created Firefox profile
Here’s what I have tried on the remote end (server side):
- Restart the docker container (in fact all docker containers)
- Log in to the website and end all sessions (the option in ‘the danger zone’)
- Test that entries are accessible via the website
- Export the entries in case they were in danger of becoming inaccessible
- Check that the server wasn’t experiencing heavy load or doing anything unusual
What I did immediately prior to this issue occuring:
I was setting up a new account (Mailx) which gave me the option of securing the account with a passkey. I was slightly confused by the extension interface in the ‘Add passkey to Bitwarden’ dialogue that popped up - it presents you with two buttons, one called ‘New’ and the other ‘Add login’ or something - and may have tried the first before the second. However, I ultimately chose the second (I think) and clicked OK or Add or something. This started a very lengthy process with a little spinning wheel animation. After a couple of minutes I figured nothing was happening so I clicked cancel. The dialogue closed and I was returned to account creation, I then switched to Mailx’s account creation with password - which was when I noticed that I wasn’t able to see my vault or add new entries.
Grateful for any suggestions. I am really not sure if this is a VW or BW issue but AFAICT the VW forums tend to lean towards pushing VW users here first, at the very least, so this I where I am starting.
