This is maybe a stupid question. But I can’t seem to find a clear answer.
Situation: I have a self-hosted Bitwarden_RS installation and my buddy has his own self-hosted Bitwarden_RS installation. We want to be able to share logins.
It is not clear to me if Organisations are limited to a single installation.
Is there a way for me to share logins with him?
If not, what is the best way? Move our both accounts to the same platform?
Bitwarden wasn’t designed with federation in mind. You’ll both need to be on the same instance to share entries.
As a workaround you could create an account on your buddy’s instance and have that account added to an organization and then write a script that exports and imports your buddy’s organization using the Bitwarden CLI and then regularly exports and imports the organizations on both servers. But I have not tested this and your account probably needs Admin access on both organizations to create new collections.
