# Feature Request: Sort Vault Items by "Recent" (Recently Created or Updated)

It would be useful to have a **Recent** sort option that orders vault items by their most recent activity, either when they were **created** or **last modified**.

I frequently relied on this in 1Password, and it’s surprisingly useful. A common scenario is signing up for a new service, then a day or two later needing to find the login again to add notes, enable MFA, or update the entry. Rather than trying to remember the service name or URL, I can simply sort by **Recent** and it’s right at the top.

This would also help when:

- Updating passwords after a security incident.
- Reviewing recently imported or edited entries.
- Finding accounts that were just created without remembering their exact name.

Since the required metadata (creation and/or revision timestamps) already exists, this seems like it could be implemented as a **client-side feature** , either in the Vaultwarden web vault or the Bitwarden client applications, without requiring any server-side changes.

A simple **Sort by → Recent** option (using the most recent of creation or last modification) would make locating newly added or recently edited items much faster.

People are asking for this on the [bitwarden forums here](https://community.bitwarden.com/t/sorting-options-by-date-of-modification-addition-last-use-etc/2484).

I also often search for recent items and would use this feature if the browser addon had it.
